Tornado Strikes Kimball, TN

A tornado has hit Kimball, TN in Marion County. Kimball is about an hour and a half from my home. At last report, I was hearing about 9 or 10 possible injuries, none serious. My company owns billboards in Marion County.

Locally, I received 1.82" of rain from yesterday's storms. We had alot of cloud to ground lightning. Very dangerous at times. At 3:30 pm yesterday, it was completely dark from the storm clouds.

I lived in Marion until I was 18 years old. I'm currently a Junior Meteorology Major at the University of South Alabama in Mobile... This was "BIG" news last year. I knew Marion County was due for a Tornado. The last Tornado that occured was in 1995. I watched the storm as it was moved into Marion County and was in total shock. I had called, Emailed, and Text Messaged everyone I knew that was in the path. Thankfully, everyone was ok. It's really a tough being 400 miles away knowing my hometown was being nailed by a tornado.
