We expect rain chances to increase the evening of July 4th (Friday) into Saturday. Don't think it'll be widespread coverage across the Volunteer State. For today, a minor chance for showers in the daytime heating. Expect highs here on the Highland Rim to reach the middle 80's and higher temperatures for areas to our south and west.

I am in Birmingham and saw your link on a comment on the ABC33/40 weather blog. I have an aunt in Cookeville. Love the area and coming to visit. She always takes us to a wonderful place called "Bob-e-ques" or something similar. I'll have to keep an eye out on your weather forecasts to see when it would be a good time to get away from the heat and humidity in B'ham and head north to visit my aunt.
