Middle TN Climate Summary (June 2008)

From the National Weather Service in Nashville:

...A warm and dry June for Nashville...

June averaged 78.0 degrees at the Airport...which is nearly 3 degrees above normal. The first 13 days were above normal...and the first 12 days averaged nearly 8 degrees above normal.

The highest temperature for the month was 94 degrees on several dates...and the coolest was 56 degrees on the 18th. Total rainfall for the month was 2.21 inches...which is 1.87 inches below normal.

There were several minor weather events during the month...occurring early and late in the month. On the afternoon of the first of the month...structural damage from thunderstorm winds occurred between Baxter and Cookeville in Putnam County. On the afternoon of the 28th...considerable wind damage occurred in the Barfield community southwest of Murfreesboro in Rutherford County.

Crossville averaged 72.4 degrees for the month...which is 2 degrees above normal. The warmest temperature was 88 degrees on the 8th...while the coldest was 52 on the 18th and 19th. Total rainfall was 2.91 inches...which is 1.82 inches below normal.

Clarksville averaged 76.1 degrees for the month and tabulated 1.53 inches of rainfall.
