Short Term Forecast

****Update****

1254 PM CDT SUN MAY 24 2009

.NOW...
THROUGH 300 PM...YOU CAN EXPECT AN INCREASED CHANCE FOR LIGHTNING
ACROSS THE SOUTHWESTERN HALF OF THE MID STATE. A SIMILAR INCREASE
IN LIGHTNING POTENTIAL WILL LIKELY TAKE PLACE OVER THE NORTHEASTERN
HALF OF THE AREA BETWEEN MID AND LATE AFTERNOON. THE ATMOSPHERE
WILL BE INCREASING CONDUCIVE FOR THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT AS THE
AFTERNOON WEARS ON...AND YOU CAN EXPECT THE STORMS TO PRODUCE BRIEF...
TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS. ANYONE PLANNING OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES FOR THE
REST OF THE DAY SHOULD KEEP THIS IN MIND...AND BOATERS SHOULD SEEK
SAFE HARBOR WHEN THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOP.
