A question from a Facebook friend reminded of a post I've been wanting to write. So, check out these wild stats! Thanks to Carl Johnson of Cookeville for the following question.

"How many hours has it been since we (Cookeville) were last above freezing?"

We went below freezing at 4:22 a.m. on January 1st and have not been back over freezing since. That is (at 6:25 pm) 206 straight hours below 32°.

Some of you may wonder what the record is. I've heard, and haven't confirmed it, that we once went 10 straight days below freezing several years ago. I'm working on obtaining the information.

By the way, tonight's lows are expected to drop to the single digits!
