More Showers and Heavy Rain Coming

5:00 PM UPDATE:
Very strong storm poised to move in through the Cookeville area any time now. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING is now in effect for Putnam County and surrounding counties until 5:30 pm. We could see winds, in the storms, gust to 70 mph!  


4:45 PM UPDATE:
Heavy rains are knocking on the door for Putnam County. You can see skies on the Cookeville web cam getting quite dark looking west. It is just to the right at the top of the blog. LATEST, LOCAL RADAR!


BIG WEATHER EVENT:
At just after 4 pm, we see another line of showers heading towards the Cookeville area. We will certainly not see the amount of rainfall that folks in the Nashville area have seen. The damage estimates are still unknown, but most certainly will be in the 10's of millions, if not 100's of millions. There are unconfirmed reports that up to nine people have lost their lives across Tennessee.
