Flood Advisory

New event.

Areal Flood Advisory from 11/30/2010 7:42 AM to 11:30 AM CST for Cookeville, TN.

* at 734 am CST radar continued to show widespread rainfall across
much of the northern and central Cumberland Plateau. This activity
extends southward into northeastern Alabama. Rainfall amounts of 2
to 3 inches has lead to flooding of low land and other flood prone
areas. Rainfall should begin to taper off by midday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice...turn around...dont drown.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
