..NWS METEOROLOGISTS ARE CURRENTLY SURVEYING STORM DAMAGE NEAR STATESVILLE IN WILSON COUNTY TENNESSEE...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN NASHVILLE TN IS CURRENTLY CONDUCTING A STORM SURVEY FOR THE AREA NEAR STATESVILLE IN WILSON COUNTY TENNESSEE. THE SURVEY IS IN RELATION TO THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS THAT MOVED THROUGH THE AREA ON OCTOBER 1, 2012.

LATEST INFORMATION CONFIRMS TOUCHDOWN OF AN EF0 TORNADO AT STATESVILLE (IN WILSON COUNTY), WITH MAX WINDS OF 85 MPH, AND A PATH WIDTH OF 50 YARDS. PATH LENGTH IS CURRENTLY BEING DETERMINED.

A FINAL ASSESSMENT INCLUDING RESULTS OF THE SURVEY ARE EXPECTED TO BE COMPLETED AND TRANSMITTED VIA A PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT BY 1800 CDT, OCTOBER 2, 2012.
