Your Weekend Forecast and Other Fun Stuff

Kind of like Seattle weather is what one of my Facebook friends said today and I have to agree. Overcast and just enough rain to make you use your wipers and have to watch out for people who mysteriously didn't know or realize that it actually rained today!

After a mainly rainy Friday (only .30") in the rain bucket, the weekend promises much of the same.

QUICKIE FORECAST:
Friday night: 80% shower chance, low 62°
Saturday: 60% thunderstorm chance, high 76°
Saturday night: 30% thunderstorm chance, low 66°
Sunday: 40% thunderstorm chance, high 84°

Friday saw rain showers off and on for much of the afternoon with only one round of moderate showers and mostly light showers. No lightning/thunder was reported in Cookeville.

Rain chances diminish considerably next week with much warmer temperatures. Highs in the upper 80's to around 90° with lows in the upper 60's. We'll see the garden variety type of summer afternoon or early evening thunderstorm chance.

LINKS YOU CAN USE:
Tonight, I'll feature a couple of links including a much better looking mobile weather site from the National Weather Service. It really has an 'app-type feel' to it. Check out the news story here or go directly to the new site by clicking here

The other link I'd like to show you is a much better way to see the Nashville office of the National Weather Service on Facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/NWSNashville

Try out both of these and let me know what you think!
