In Memory of Lance Clark

A United States Marine from right here in Cookeville, Tennessee has been killed in Iraq. His name is LCrpl. Lance Murphy Clark, a 21 year old. He died in Southern Iraq on September 7th accoring to Marine officers.

They expect his body to be returned home tomorrow (Wednesday) to Cookeville.

LCrpl. Clark graduated from Cookeville High in 2004 and joined the Marines in 2005. He had already completed one tour of duty and was called back for his second tour in July.

According to his mother, he said that if he didn't return, he'd see her in heaven. His mother is also quoted a saying 'he was a good person, a sweet boy that never gave us any trouble.'

Thank you Lance Corporal Clark for your service to our country and for your ultimate sacrifice. Your dedication will NEVER, EVER be forgotten!

Freedom is not free. Thank you Lance for your sacrifice, it was not in vain. Thank you to Lance's family for allowing their son to sacrifice himself for the freedom of others. May God be with you and comfort you.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)
