Special Weather Statement

A Special Weather Statement has been issued by the NWS-Nashville for possible Severe Storms for Thursday and Friday.

Now is the time to make sure you are prepared for possible severe weather. Preparation would include the purchase of a good Weather Radio. They can be purchased online or at a retailer such as Radio Shack.

Severe Weather Safety Information

Looks like we'll have a busy next couple of days.

Just wondering, are the schools in Putnam County all required to have weather-alert capable radios? We have them here in FL, I think they instituted the policy after a tornado outbreak in the 90's.

TN Corgi...that is a great question. I don't know the answer.

I do know they definitely keep in touch with what is going on (weather wise)...

We had an incident recently where a storm containing large hail, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes came through and the school day was extended by 15 minutes to allow the storm to pass before letting all the kids out.
