Another Nice Saturday (unlike last year)

Another nice day is in our forecast.  I'll be going to play golf with my two brother in-laws and father in-law.  Will take the camera with me and get some good shots!

Do you remember anything about this date last year?  Allow me to remind you!
On August 16, 2007...
In the midst of one of the worst droughts in Middle Tennessee's history, the temperature at Nashville climbs to 106 degrees, setting a record high for the month.
  • It is only the fifth time in Nashville's history that this mark has been hit.
  • It is the fifth consecutive day with 100+ degree readings --
  • the 9th in the last ten days --
  • and also the twelfth consecutive day of at least 99 degrees
Waverly sets a new all-time record high with a 106-degree reading, and Linden ties its record high at 105.

We won't be anywhere near those numbers in our:

Attended the Tennessee Titans preseason game last evening with my bride.  It was the 5th anniversary of our first date!  We had an excellent time.  Left at halftime to eat dinner at P.F. Changs (one of her favorite restaurants).  While having dinner, I saw third string quarterback Ingle Martin (A Montgomery Bell Academy, in Nashville, graduate) lead our team down the field and with two seconds left, backup placekicker Jon Vaughn (A Brentwood Academy, also in Nashville, graduate) kick the winning field goal.  Quite a finish that we missed! :)
