Updating Ike and Our Local Forecast

Hurricane Ike is poised to strike the Texas coast near Galveston overnight Friday into Saturday morning.  Winds could reach 120 mph by landfall.  Ike is a large, dangerous storm.

The Houston/Galveston National Weather Service office is using strong wording concerning this storm.  With storm surge in the 20+ foot range, staying in your homes near the gulf will result in 'almost certain death'...that, my friends, is strong wording!

Here locally in Cookeville, Tennessee, we'll enjoy summer-like weather through the weekend.  Highs in the mid 80's with high humidity and chances of storms each day.
