USA Today and End of Month Stats!

Found out today that my blog picked up by USATODAY.com today.  ~How cool is that??  I was REALLY surprised and it is kind of fun to know this weather blog was picked up on a site that large.  A few days ago, Reuters.com picked up one of my posts along with the Chicago Sun-Times.  Thanks to the folks at Blogburst.com for providing my content to these big-time visited websites.  See the USA TODAY post here

Here is how September looked from my visitors.  Visits to my blog were UP 118% and page views increased 122% versus September 2007.  That is a very good trend.  I appreciate you taking your time to visit my site.

INTERESTING RAINFALL NUMBERS
We measured 1.10" of rain at my CoCoRaHS station while our NWS-Coop station had just .31"....looking back over records going way, way back to 1914, here is how that .31" fits into the all-time records.

1. October 1924     0.00"
2. October 1963     0.00"
3. October 2000     0.08"
4. June 1936           0.09"
5. June 1984           0.21"
6. September 2008 0.31"

Quite interesting that it was the 6th driest month since records have been kept...(1914)

Rainfall for 2008 stands at 33.86" while we measured just 36.08" in all of 2007.   I've measured 33.61" this year on my CoCoRaHS station.

All-time Driest Years (1914-Present)
1.  2007  36.08"

4.  1936  39.17"
5.  1924  40.05"
6.  1927  40.20
