Last Night's Lows (2° in Monterey)

Checked some Middle Tennessee temperatures today and found Monterey (in Putnam County) had morning low of 2°...while Jamestown (Fentress County) was at 3°...I've met both of the men who are the NWS Coop Observers for those two locations and they are as good as you'll find.  Joelton, in northwestern Davidson County (near Nashville) was at 5° while the Heat Island known as Nashville Int'l Airport recorded 16°..how goofy is that?

Many 6, 7, and 8 degree morning lows across Middle TN.

In the Smoky Mountains, Newfound Gap (at 5000 ft) was -3° this morning while Mt. LeConte registered a morning low of -9°...chilly!
