Beautiful Snow (TDOT ROADS LINK)

Schools in Putnam County are closed for Tuesday due to snow.
Also, Cumberland and Fentress are closed as well.  
The latest forecast should be out any time.


***11:40 am UPDATE***
...SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OVER THE MID STATE...

SINCE THE SNOW BEGAN ABOUT 6 HOURS AGO...THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF
THE NORTHERN PLATEAU HAVE RECEIVED THE GREATEST AMOUNT OF
SNOW...WHILE AREAS TO THE WEST BACK TOWARD NASHVILLE ONLY RECEIVED
A DUSTING. HERE ARE A FEW REPORTS BY COUNTY AS OF 1015 AM...

PUTNAM     1-1 1/2"
PICKETT    1
CUMBERLAND 1
WHITE      1/2-1
CLAY       1/2-1
JACKSON    1/2-1
OVERTON    1/4-1/2

THE SNOW HAS BEGUN TO DIMINISH THE LAST HOUR OR SO...AND ONLY LIGHT
ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED.


We've awoken to a very nice snow event here in Cookeville!


A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through 2:00 pm today.  Expectations are for accumulations of around 1 inch today.  Snow continues tonight and a chance of flurries for Tuesday.  Higher elevations around Monterey and Jamestown could see around 2" of snowfall.

This is at Mile Marker 341.3 in Roane County.
It is east of Crossville on I-40 and west of Knoxville.

Are you ready for a warm-up of temperatures?  Early indications are highs on Thursday and Friday will be in the lower 50's!  That should make some people smile.

Nice little snow there Michael! West TN was missed again, and probably will be tonight and tomorrow too, though the NWS posts a slight chance of flurries. Oh well! Bring on those 50s!

Schools closed AGAIN? Wow. Good thing we just got the Wii hooked up! A good remedy for Cabin Fever. Though I really was looking forward to NOT having to share it tomorrow...
