Very Cold Morning (More Cold Coming)

COLD START
We awake to temperatures in the lower 20's in Cookeville and even lower in some areas around us. Our friend in Crossville, just to our east, bottomed out just below 20° this morning.  Most locations in Middle TN are in the lower 20's this morning also.

*Latest, Local Forecast*

NICE TODAY, THEN RAIN
Temperatures recover nicely today under a bright, sunny sky.  Highs should 50° for a lot of us in the Upper Cumberland.  The rest of the upcoming weekend features rain with a possible snow mix on Saturday night.  No accumulation expected at this time.

ARCTIC COLD EXPECTED LATE NEXT WEEK
My good friend, Eddie Holmes at Jackson (TN) Weather, has an excellent post about his thoughts on next week's bitterly cold outbreak.  We could be staring at the coldest weather of our winter season thus far as our departure from normal temps could be as much as 25°.  James Spann, from AlabamaWX , posts about temps in Alaska -50° and below!

HOW ABOUT THOSE GATORS!
Congrats to Coach Urban Meyer and the Florida Gators on another BCS championship.  While I'm not a big fan of their program, I am especially impressed with their quarterback, Tim Tebow.  What a strong leader! From the accepting of responsibility after their loss at Ole Miss to willing his team to victory, he leads them.

You may have noticed the phrase John 3:16 under his eyes.  It comes from the bible and says 'For God loved the world so that he gave his only Son so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.' (The Living Bible)

Tebow's strong faith isn't just something he wears during a game, he practices it.  I encourage you to live your faith and be a good example to others!

The next installment of the 2008 year in review is coming up TODAY! :)
