5:00 Update on Winter Weather

Sleet being reported across the Cookeville and Putnam County area. Much of this will probably change to rain for a period and then transition over to a wintry mix and finally to all snow later tonight.

The forecast amount for your location can be found by consulting the graphic above. (Thanks to NWS-Nashville). Temperatures are expected to hover just below freezing over night (low 28°) and climb to right at freezing for Christmas Day. Roads may become slick and hazardous overnight, but should be mainly wet during the late morning/afternoon hours on Christmas. With additional snow, Christmas night we may see tough travel conditions again. Snow expected to continue on Sunday, high just 28°.
