Hits Keep On Coming!

Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 11:59 AM CST on December 11, 2010

....Winter Storm Warning in effect from 4 am Sunday to 6 am CST
Monday...

The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snowfall accumulation...which is in effect from 4
am Sunday to 6 am CST Monday.

* Location: the Winter Storm Warning is in effect for that portion
of middle TN generally along and northeast of a
Celina...Gainesboro...Sparta...to Crossville line.

* Timing: rain will change to snow around midnight with generally
light accumulations expected overnight. There will be a break
in the precipitation late Saturday night...but more snowfall
will return on Sunday along with frigid and blustery conditions.
The snow will diminish Sunday evening.

* Accumulations: 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected by Monday
morning.

* Impacts: slick Road conditions will develop late Saturday night
as temperatures plummet into the 20s. Periods of snow through
the day on Sunday and into Sunday night will cause very
dangerous travel conditions as roadways become snow covered.
Some roadways may even become impassable by late Sunday night.
This makes for an especially dangerous situation as wind chill
values will dropping to as low as zero degrees.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow...
sleet...and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
