Winter Continues It's Grip

A major traffic headache developing later today.

Stay informed on changing weather conditions.

....Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from noon today to
6 am CST Thursday...

* timing: a wintry mix of sleet...freezing rain...and possibly a
light snow...will begin by late this morning or early
afternoon... and continue through the rest of the day. The
precipitation is expected to become mixed with rain this
evening... then change to all rain around midnight...or shortly
thereafter.

* Accumulations: total ice accumulations from one tenth inch up to
one quarter inch are expected through tonight. Largest ice
accumulations should occur in the most northern counties. Only
light snow accumulation is expected.

* Impacts: ice accumulations of these amounts will create havoc on
roadways and add tremendous weight to trees and power lines...
with the possibility of power and telephone outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while
driving.
