A Hot Monday Ahead

Mostly sunny skies are on tap for your Monday across the Upper Cumberland. We're already in the mid 60's at 7 this morning. Expect hot temperatures as we'll hit at least 87° for the high this afternoon. Winds will be from the SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Storm chances ramp up (50%) over night with a low of 63°.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday (about a 40% chance) with a high of 82°.

Mostly sunny skies for Wednesday and Thursday and rain chances return on Friday. Highs in the mid to upper 80's each day.

April ends today and has been a topsy-turvy month in regards to temperatures. April started out very warm with highs in the 80's at the beginning of the month. By the 11th, the high was just 55° and the next morning we were down to 28°, which would be the coldest temperature recorded during April 2012. We warmed right back up again, but then took a tumble from the 21st through the 24th where temps hung around the mid 50's to lower 60's. Another light frost occurred on the morning of April 24. April's precipitation was much below normal with just 1.85" being recorded.
