Sunny skies and very warm temperatures are on tap for Sunday across the Cookeville and Upper Cumberland area. Expect highs to reach 85°+ this afternoon. There is about a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours. Some of these storms will be strong to locally severe capable of producing hail and gusty winds. They should be fairly brief in nature and isolated.
Thunderstorms will be more likely on Monday with highs in the lower 80's and slightly cooler with a slight chance of storms on Tuesday with a high of 79°.
The outlook for late next week and into the weekend is for HOT weather to return. Expect 90's by next weekend.
