We topped 100° on Thursday afternoon and had a high of 102°. If that temperature holds up as the official high, it will tie a record for this date set back in 1936. We're expecting even hotter weather on Friday (104-105° here in Cookeville)...the record is 99°, so I'm quite confident the record will be broken easily.
5 pm temperatures around Tennessee ranged from 96° at Crossville (a new daily hi temp for them) to 105° in Murfreesboro.
