A strengthening low pressure system is moving into middle TN later today and tonight. It'll bring rain, heavy at times, across our area with 3-5" extended for much of the mid-state and even higher amounts toward the Cumberland Plateau.
Locally, here in Cookeville, a flood watch is in effect from 7 o'clock this morning through Tuesday morning. Flooding in low lying areas is likely even though soil conditions are generally dry. Low river levels will help the area from having widespread flooding, but localized flooding will be possible.
