Special Weather Statement

Cold tonight with patchy frost due to the combination of high pressure to our north and Hurricane Sandy off the Carolina coast will keep north winds and colder air surging south into the region tonight. Mostly clear skies are expected west of the plateau area with lows falling into the mid 30's. The steady winds will prevent a widespread frost from formings. Low lying areas and sheltered areas will likely see some frost. More clouds are expected in the Plateau region tonight with the potential for patchy frost as well.

The rest of the week is expected to feature much below normal temperatures.
