Rain Changing To Snow Later

A tough forecast for today as what is left of the rain will changeover to snow this afternoon.

We'll make the transition between the 11 am and 3 pm timeframe (approximately) and should be all snow by 3 pm this afternoon. Expect the gusty southwest winds to turn more to the west northwest and gust as high as 30 mph. While we have an 80% chance of precipitation, total accumulations are only expected to be around a half inch. Tonight, snow is expected, with a low of arorund 27°. No additional accumulation is expected.

We roared up to a high this morning of 52.4° at 5:35 am but are dropping quickly as cold air pours into the Cookeville area. At 9:10 am temps are down to 42.5° and they will fall to 31° by 5 o'clock this afternoon. Winds have gusted to 29 mph.

The rest of the week is for a partly sunny, but COLD Thursday with a high of 39°.
Friday will be partly sunny with a high of 48°
Rain likely Saturday and a high of 44° with snow Saturday night
Sunday will be cold but sunny with a high of 40°
