Winter Weather Expect To Affect Area

DOWNRIGHT COLD
Once again we're expecting more winter weather as a system rolls in from the northwest. Temperatures are cold (21.7° at 8:15 pm) and expected to be in the low 20's overnight. We've been below freezing since late last evening when a round of snow rolled through. The high on Friday was just 27.7° marking the second day this winter (last one on January 22 when it was 28.9°) temps didn't top the freezing mark. Today was also the coldest HIGH afternoon temperature this year. It's been a couple of winters ago since we saw daytime highs below freezing.

*Special Weather Statement*

MOSTLY SNOW
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Saturday morning starting at 6 am and lasting until 6 pm on Saturday evening. There is the potential for some slippery roads as temps are expected to stay under 32° during the day. While locations west of us in middle TN will probably see a transition to rainfall, we're expected to stay all snow. This is a dicy forecast where a few degrees will make all the difference. For now, we see around 2" of accumulations possible with isolated 3" amounts in higher elevations east and northeast of Putnam County.
