Saturday Afternoon Forecast Update - Rain

Moderate rain has been falling most of the day across Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland region. There are indications the intensity may pick up in the afternoon hours. As of 12:45 pm, we've received .65" at my weather station.

I did a quick survey of rainfall amounts since midnight in Middle TN. Manchester is reporting 1.82" at a station near New Union. The heaviest of the rain amounts are in the southern and southeastern sections of Middle TN. The Prentice Cooper State Forest weather station northwest of Chattanooga is just under 2" today.

A Flood Watch is in effect through Sunday.

Rest of today:
A 100% chance for rain with the rain becoming heavy at times. High 54°

Tonight:
Rain, heavy at times, with a low of 47°. Rain chances 100%

Sunday:
Showers likely with a high near 57°. Rain chances 80%

Expect a warm-up into the mid and upper 70's by mid to late next week.
