Sunny Sunday But Very Cold Temps Overnight

Happy Mother's Day to all you ladies whether you're a mom or want to be a mom!

We're waking this morning to sunny skies, a north-northwest wind, and chilly temperatures. Morning lows were around 40° and that occurred at 6 am, just after sunrise at 5:53 am. Temperatures will recover rapidly this morning but won't get above 61° this afternoon with winds from 5 to 15 mph during the daytime hours.

For tonight, temperatures fall rapidly after sunset and we're under a "Frost Advisory" from midnight through 8 am on Monday. Expect mid to upper 30's for much of middle TN but the Upper Cumberland region, including Cookeville, may see lows dip into the lower 30's. Frost is likely and may damage unprotected vegetation.

Today's record low was 37° in 1989
Tomorrow's record low was 35° in 1917

Looking into next week, we're expecting sunny, warm days and cool nights. Highs will range from 66° on Monday all the way to 83° by Wednesday. Rain is expected back in the picture for Thursday and Friday. A slight chance for showers during the weekend with warm temperatures.
