Some incredible numbers for July compared to normal.
High temperatures during July averaged just 83.9° (average is 87.3°) while lows averaged 64.5° (average is 65.3°. As you can tell our high temperatures were significantly below normal.
Last years average July daily high temperature 91.0° which was 7.1° higher than this year. We had 5 days top 100° last year along with 17 additional days that were 90° plus!
The hottest day this July was 91°, which occurred on the 17th, 19th, and 20th. The coolest high temperature was 71° on July 6th.
The coolest morning temp was just 53° which occurred the morning of July 29th. It missed an all-time record by just 1°. We had four late July mornings to start in the 50's during what is typically the hottest part of the entire year.
Rainfall, officially, was 7.18" (average is 5.05") at the COOP station but several stations reported 10+ inches.
Northeast Cookeville - 10.37"
West Northwest Cookeville - 10.78"
South Southwest Cookeville - 11.43"
Flintville in Lincoln County, TN recorded 15.80" while Dayton recorded 14.99" down in Rhea County. There were 26 additional stations in Tennessee who recorded at least 12" in July.
We measured 2.46" of rain on July 4th and 2.07" on July 6th. We topped 1" on July 1st and July 21st.
