Possible Shower Before Lunch; Gorgeous Rest of Week

BECOMING SUNNY LATER:
There is a very slight chance of a possible shower or thunderstorm today before lunch with sunny skies for this afternoon and a high near 80°. Currently, at 6:45 am, in Cookeville the temperature is 70°. 

STORMY MONDAY AFTERNOON:
On Monday, we had two rounds of thunderstorms roll through the area prompting a severe thunderstorm warning and a significant weather advisory. We recorded just .66" here at my weather station while areas around Carthage, TN (about 35 miles to our west) had some impressive totals including a station with 2.73". 

WET and COOL:
So far in August we've recorded two days with rain and a total of 3.22". Average August rainfall is: 3.94". Average temperatures so far this month is running about 1.7° below normal.

ANOTHER COOL SPELL:
Once we get past today, expect much cooler temperatures the rest of the week with lows in the upper 50's tonight, lower to mid 50's on Wednesday night, upper 50's on Thursday night. Highs mainly in the upper 70's to lower 80's each day with abundant sunshine.
