Happy Thanksgiving

Today is November 22, 2007....just 39 days to go in this year! A happy thanksgiving day to all. Remember why the Pilgrims were giving thanks today & offer up your own thanks to our Creator.

Current conditions are chilly & wet. Temperature at 6 am (cst) is 43.2°, winds are from the north at around 5-8 mph. .35" in the CoCoRaHS rain bucket since yesterday. We expect a cloudy, cold day with temps falling throughout the day. Snow flurries are OUT of the forecast.

My 13 year-old daughter is running in a 5K (called the Turkey Trot) this morning. Will be an excellent day for a 3.1 mile run! Mommy, me and the baby Mary Katherine will cheer her on!

On This Date in History:
Katherine Sue (Wolf) Detwiler, my grandmother, was born in 1917.
She died February 25, 1976.

In 1929...Five inches of snow fall at Nashville, the most ever measured on this date.

President John Kennedy was assasinated in Dallas in 1963.

In 1986, Mike Tyson defeats Trevor Berbick to become the youngest heavyweight boxing champ ever.

In other news, I joined a group on Yahoo Groups called WEATHERFUN. It's a great bunch of weather enthusiasts from across the country. I look forward to seeing their reports, getting to know them and hearing their stories.
