Snow, Then A Big Warmup!

We're look at the chances for snow early Thursday morning here and a very cold day on Thursday due to a strong cold front. By the weekend, however, temperatures will warm into the 50's and near 60 by early next week.

Currently, on this Wednesday morning, we are under freezing with some mist falling. This has created a few slicks spots...mostly on elevated surfaces and our schools are running two hours late for safety reasons. I believe it is an excellent decision. We'll clear out later but will struggle to reach 40.

Here is our latest, local forecast!

It's stupid that schools close in Tennessee for rain. You guys can drive in it. Here in Kansas it can be snowing out the wazoo and we still go to school, and yes that is before the y plow the roads. I was very suprised that durring the ice storm they closed school for 4 days straight, but that was due to power issues. When i lived in putnam county i was always so surprised when school got out. They will have a few snow days every year since they have 13 built in and it is just an excuse for a day off. I drive on the snow with my little chrysler seabring and busses here do not have anything special on them.

mike, do you think it will snow enough tonight to delay or even close schools tomorrow?
