Strong Winds & Heavy Rain Christmas Eve

*** 6 PM *** UPDATE
A Wind Advisory is in effect for Christmas Eve across the Volunteer State.

The Eve of Christmas Eve: We'll talk about the main weather story in just a moment, but first lets look at today's forecast. Expect rain to develop later today with warm temperatures, highs around 54°. Tonight, rain chances again with lows in the middle 40's.

Christmas Eve: Strong winds develop in advance of a strong low-pressure system. The National Weather Service has issued a WIND ADVISORY for all of Middle Tennessee. We could see gusts hit 40 mph. Be careful if you're traveling on Thursday. Expect heavy rains to accompany the winds, especially toward the evening hours. The rains should be with us most of the day. A thunderstorm or two is possible as well. High temps in the upper 50's. Around 1" of rain will accumulate.

Christmas Day: The winds will continue, although not as strong and cold air pushes in. Snow flurries will be a possibility later that night with lingering rain showers during the day. Highs will start in the 40's and fall most of the day into the 30's by the afternoon.
