Weekend Rain Ahead

VERY NICE DAY: Highs around Cookeville will reach the lower 50's today. Can't rule out a sprinkle or two this morning under a cloudy sky. Just a slight chance for showers on Saturday, high of 54°. For Saturday night and Sunday, expect rain and a low of 39° and a high of 46°. Temperatures stay in the 50's for highs during the first part of next week! Very nice.

INTERESTING FACT: Did you know the average temperature (combined high and low) for the first 14 days of January is just 20.9° here in Cookeville. Compare that with our normal of 35.5° and contrast that against the record, which is 51.9° that occurred back in 2005. Is it any wonder that most of our ponds are frozen across the Upper Cumberlands?

COOKEVILLE WEB CAM: Nice shot (above) from one of the two Cookeville web cams. You can see those and much more over at the weather site for the Cookeville-Putnam County Emergency Management Agency.
