Severe Weather Chances Saturday

(Graphic courtesy of NashvilleWx.com)

SIGNIFICANT WEATHER CHANGES AHEAD: Most cloudy today with a 20% chance for showers and a high of 72°. We are looking at our first potential for severe weather on Saturday as a very strong upper-level storm will move in from the southern plains. With large amounts of wind energy and wind shear in the lower levels of the atmosphere, we will have a ripe combination for large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes. This would be a great time to go out and purchase a NOAA Weather Radio, if you do not have one (see link and image below).

Weather History for This Date

Thank you for all the information you share Michael, my mom and dad live in Cookeville and I am in Chattanooga, there have been times when I would get an alert from you late at night on my droid cell phone and I have called and woke my parents up for them to take cover and get in the basement. I really appreciate all you do. You are my tie to my family far away.
