There is much uncertainty concerning the forecast for Sunday. We do know there will be plenty of precipitation. The great unknown is where will the temperatures be.
The weather forecast office of the National Weather Service in Nashville says "this is one of the most challenging forecasts in recent memory".....and also said it is "difficult to draw up a forecast with a high degree of confidence".
Sunday will be blustery with plenty of precipitation and if temperatures cooperate, the potential for measurable snowfall will occur across extreme northern middle Tennessee and the Cumberland Plateau by Sunday afternoon.
If the moisture leaves too fast, accumulation amounts will be severely affected on the low side. The other problem right now is the fact we've been warm and that will surely affect the amount of accumulation as well.
With all of that being said, the NWS is continuing with the Winter Storm Watch.
