Freeze Warning For ALL of Middle Tennessee

Some of the coldest temperatures in several weeks are expected across all of middle Tennessee. Temperatures will be below freezing for the upper Highland Rim and Cumberland Plateau while the rest of middle TN will see widespread frost.

At 9:15 pm, temps are already down to 40.4° in Cookeville with an expected low temperature of 30° just before sunrise. Frost will form after midnight and temps will dip below freezing during the 4 am to 7 am time frame. The frost will melt by just after 8 o'clock on Thursday morning so give yourself a little extra time when leaving home early tomorrow.

We should be about 7° warmer on Thursday than the high of 55° on Wednesday. This was the coolest day since March 5 when we hit just 50°. Typical highs this time of year average 68° and last year on April 10, we set a record with a high of 87°. The coldest April 10 was a 23° reading back in 1982.

A look ahead to the weekend reveals warming temperatures with highs in the upper 70's. The first chance of rain is on Monday but the percentages are quite low.
