Cold Morning, Even Colder Ahead!

COLD START
Most communities in Middle Tennessee have warmed to the lower 20's at 8 o'clock this morning.  Livingston and Cookeville are still at 19° while Crossville is at 17°....all three communities were at 14° at 5 a.m.

COLD DAYS AHEAD
We expect to reach the mid and upper 30's today, but a strong south wind will makes temperatures feel much colder.  The strongest of the cold air begins it's arrival tonight along with some snow with lows in the lower teens.  Highs on Thursday will struggle to get out of the teens while lows Thursday night are expected to be around 0°..Friday's highs will again fight to reach 20°.

Thanks for your blog. I really enjoy reading your posts down here in McMinnville. I like your saying "from an experienced prospective." What is your experience? It's obvious that you know more than the average joe about weather, so I am just curious where you acquired this knowledge.

Hey JC..

Thanks for your comment and for your question. My experience comes from several areas. Over 35 years of weather observation, more than 100 books read, weather forecasting on television here in Cookeville, and 2 years of blogging about it every day!

What I need to do is complete my meteorology degree...that involves either moving to Huntsville, AL..Bowling Green, KY...or distance learning course work through Mississippi State!

I appreciate your question and keep people in line down in McMinnville. :)

Thanks for your response. Looks like some one on Nashville WX didn't like your comments about Al Gore, or your stance on "Global Warming." Probably just another nut, brainwashed by the media.
Thanks,
JC
