Cold Monday Morning

COLD MONDAY WITH SOME FLURRIES!
We start this March Monday morning with temperatures in the teens here in Cookeville, TN along with some snow flurries flying! Crazy weather for early March. There are several school systems closed due to snow across the southern sections of Middle TN.

WARMING TREND AHEAD
A north wind will make an already chilly day ahead feel even colder.  Highs are only expected to reach the lower 30's. After a Tuesday morning low of around 15°, we'll begin a warming trend that promises temperatures into the middle 60's by Thursday!

*Latest, Local Forecast*

MARCH ALMANAC (and news)
Typically, for March 2nd, our high would be 55° while our lows average 31°. The records are 78° in 1997 and 9° in 1980. We had a 3.5" snow in 1980 on this date while we measured 1.94" of rain on this day in 2007. Finally, on this date in 1963, my parents gave birth to a bouncing baby boy...ME! :)

SNOW MEASUREMENT CORRECTION
I want to correct something I posted yesterday.  The 12.5" snow total from near Jackson was not measured by Eddie Holmes, but by Mr. William Brantley.

FEBRUARY SUMMARY
I will have a February summary by tomorrow for you all.  A quick hint says it was below normal in both temperatures and precipitation.
