WIND ADVISORY TODAY: Strong northwest winds will whip around the Upper Cumberland of Tennessee today along with snow showers. Another inch of accumulation is expected in the Cookeville area. Temperatures at 6:45 this morning are around 20°. A Wind Advisory is in effect through 3 pm, causing wind chills in the single digits this morning. Expect highs in the upper 20's this afternoon with strong winds continuing. Gusts could reach 40 mph.
Snow Measurement: At my 7 a.m. observation, we recorded 2" of accumulation here in Cookeville. In the rain gauge, the water equivalent was just .04". A very dry, powdery snow. Total for the month of February is 3.30" of precipitation. Total SNOW for our winter season is 8.5" in northeast Cookeville.
