Twas The Week Before Christmas

A whole array of weather is on tap for the upcoming week in Cookeville as well as the rest of middle Tennessee. Let's dive right in...

COULD BE NOISY:
Showers and thunderstorms are likely later tonight after the midnight hour with lows around 52°. It was windy earlier this evening (gusts to 23 mph here) but they are settling down and I don't expect to hear much the rest of the evening.

STRONG STORMS:
For Monday, expect a good chance of showers and thunderstorms with the POSSIBILITY of strong to severe thunderstorms. I do believe the severe threat is low but is worth mentioning as instability levels will climb during the morning hours. As of now, our best opportunity for the strongest weather is in the lunch time to later afternoon hours. Expect a high on Monday of 62°.

SUNSHINE FOR MONDAY AND TUESDAY:
For Monday night, a slight chance of showers and colder with a low of 40° by Tuesday morning. Both Tuesday and Wednesday will be calm and sunny with highs of 56° and 62° respectively.

BOOMERS AGAIN WEDNESDAY NIGHT:
Things become interesting and unstable again by Wednesday night as another round of strong weather is expected. Again, the current thoughts are for thunderstorms with a LOW chance of severe weather.

THUNDERSTORMS, TURNING COLDER, POSSIBLE SNOW:
On Thursday, thunderstorms stay in the forecast with a blustery day expected and we do see temperatures falling rapidly on Thursday night and IF the moisture stays in place some areas may see some snow flurry activity.

Next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are expected to be cold but sunny.
