Rainy Saturday with Cooler Weather Ahead

(potential snow maker for NE through Tuesday)

CURRENT CONDITIONS & QUICKIE FORECAST:
Waking up to rain showers and cool temperatures across the Upper Cumberland today. Expect your Saturday to stay mainly cloudy with scattered showers through the afternoon hours. A few showers may remain into the evening hours on the Plateau.

So far, we've received .24" of rain in Cookeville. We moderated from the upper 40's into the lower 50's and expect the high to around 62° today.

REST OF THE WEEKEND:
Slight shower chances overnight with a low of 43° with a very slight chance late Sunday with a high of 62°. Winds will be gusty on Sunday making temperatures feel colder than they are. Colder Sunday night under a clear sky and a low of 37°. I believe the frost will hold off due to the north wind from 5-10 mph.

FROST EARLY NEXT WEEK?:
For Monday, a mostly sunny, but cool day with a high of just 56°. Typical high this time of year is 71°. Monday night will be cold once again with a slight (for now) chance for frost by Tuesday morning. Calm winds with a low of 38°.

We'll warm up as we get further into next week.

SNOW FOR THE NORTHEAST?:
The graphic above shows a potential winter storm for parts of the northeast from Cleveland, OH to Erie, PA, to Buffalo, NY south through Pittsburg, PA down to West Virginia, Virginia, NC, and extreme NE TN.
