Hot Once Again

Temperatures will push close to 100° today across the Cookeville, TN area. Back the west near Nashville, they'll easily exceed the 100° mark. A Heat Advisory has been issued for every county west of the plateau. We hit 98° on Wednesday, July 4th.

The good news is we'll continue to keep a chance of thunderstorms in our picture for much of the next 7 days of the forecast. Also, we see a cooling trend starting next week!

At just before 7 am, we're already near 80° in Cookeville.

I would encourage those of you who plan to be outdoors to use caution throughout the day as the heat will be oppressive. Don't become a victim. Drink plenty of water, take frequent breaks, wear light-colored clothing, and stay away from drinks with caffeine or alcohol.
