Severe Weather Possible on Saturday Night

A developing situation for Saturday as we may see some possible severe weather in the Cookeville and surrounding areas late Saturday night into the overnight hours on Sunday. Best chances at this point are midnight Saturday through around 6 am Sunday.

This is a developing system that we've watched the last several days.

I've posted several links below to statements issued by the National Weather Service as well as Severe Weather information that you should review sooner than later.

Winds will kick up on Saturday, but temperatures will be very warm. I think we'll have a shot at our record high of 71° set back in 1967. Temperatures in the 70's are rare this late in December.

Friday's high hit 63° for the second day in a row.

First graphic is the weekly planner for ALL of Middle Tennessee. After we get rid of the thunderstorm activity, we'll be more seasonal in temperatures on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (Christmas Day).
